Privacy Policy

How Eco Spray Foam Insulation collects, uses and protects your personal information, and what your rights are under UK data protection law.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We’ve tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.

Who we are

Eco Spray Foam Insulation is the data controller for the information described here.

If you have a question about your data, contact us using any of the above and ask for whoever handles data protection enquiries.

What we collect

When you contact us. If you call, email, or fill in a form on this site, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us about your property and your enquiry.

When we survey or carry out work. We collect your property address, notes and photographs recording the condition of the loft, roof timbers or walls, and the details of what we quoted and what we did. Where work relates to a mortgage or survey issue, this may include correspondence with your lender, broker or surveyor.

When you visit this website. We use a third-party visitor-tracking service (Visitor Tracking) which loads on every page and collects information about your visit, such as pages viewed, time on site, referring website, approximate location and technical details about your device and browser. It may set cookies or similar identifiers in order to recognise return visits.

Two other third parties load as part of the page: Google Maps, which powers the map in our footer, and Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces. Both receive your IP address when the page loads, and Google may set its own cookies through the map embed. Our hosting provider also records standard technical information such as IP addresses as part of delivering and securing the site.

We do not use advertising or re-targeting services, and we do not use any of this to build a marketing profile of you or to sell your details.

We do not knowingly collect information about children, and we do not collect special category data (such as health information) as part of our normal work.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and arrange a survey — our legitimate interest in dealing with people who ask us to quote.
  • To carry out work you’ve asked for — performance of our contract with you.
  • To issue guarantees, completion certificates and documentation for lenders or surveyors — performance of our contract, and our legitimate interest in standing behind work we’ve done.
  • To meet legal and tax obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.
  • To send you marketing — only where you’ve asked us to. We do not sell or rent your details to anyone, and we don’t send unsolicited marketing.
  • To understand how the website is used — our legitimate interest in seeing which pages people find useful, through the visitor-tracking service described above.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t go ahead: up to 12 months, in case you come back to us.
  • Customer and job records: six years after the work is completed, which covers our tax obligations and the period in which a contractual claim could be brought.
  • Records for guaranteed work: for the length of the guarantee, so we can honour it. Where that guarantee runs for 25 years, so do those records.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your data. We share it only where we need to:

  • Service providers who help us operate — for example the provider that delivers our website enquiry form, our email provider, our hosting provider, and the visitor-tracking service that measures how the site is used. They act on our instructions.
  • Google — where a page loads our Google Maps footer embed or Google Fonts, your IP address reaches Google as part of serving those.
  • Specialists we bring in for part of a job — where a job needs a hand-picked specialist, they receive only what they need to do that work.
  • Your lender, broker or surveyor — only where you’ve asked us to provide documentation to them.
  • Where the law requires it — for example to HMRC, or to comply with a court order.

Our website enquiry form is delivered by a third-party form provider, which processes the details you submit in order to pass them to us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • correct anything that’s wrong
  • delete data where we no longer have a good reason to keep it
  • restrict or object to how we’re using it
  • provide it in a portable format
  • stop sending you marketing, at any time

Contact us using the details above and we’ll respond within one month. There’s no charge for this in normal circumstances.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we limit access to those who need it to do their job. No system is completely secure, but we’ll tell you and the ICO promptly if a breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top of the page. The version shown here is the one that applies.
